→Recovery is often the missing piece in the fitness conversation. Samsung saw the opportunity to showcase how their wearable devices can improve recovery, fitness and overall health, and invited runners to discover the power of better rest through at the 2025 TCS Sydney Marathon Expo.
In collaboration with Seeker Agency, we created an interactive running game that brought Samsung Health’s “Train Your Sleep” message to life. The Train Your Sleep game challenged players to sprint on sensor pads to guide their on-screen character through a virtual Sydney marathon set in a dream state.

We crafted a journey where users could identify their Sleep Animal – a persona representing their sleep habits and giving a personalised sleep coaching program, then get educated about the habits that positively and negatively impact sleep, all wrapped up in a fun, intuitive racing-themed game.

The environment features 3D-modelled Sydney landmarks, including the Harbour Bridge and Sydney Tower. The landmarks ground the experience in the city’s identity, while the soft, gradient-filled world immerses the player in a restful state.
We built three bespoke interactive running pads with sensors on the ground, allowing players to control their avatar by physically running on the spot to move forward and jumping left or right to switch lanes. This brings a real sense of movement and energy to the experience.

Based on their responses, the game analyses their results and assigns them a Samsung sleep animal, which represents a different type of sleeper. The animal offers the player personalised coaching for better rest.

After receiving the game instructions, players choose their in-game character and warm up on the running pads with a short trial. The race begins once they’re ready. Players run on the spot to move their character forward and hop left or right to switch lanes in the three-lane track.

Over a 90-second race, their challenge is to gather as many positive objects as possible to boost their sleep score. As their pace increases, so does the intensity of the game. It tests the player’s focus and reflexes as they decide which lane to take next.
